About Stubborn Home Design

A one-person store shaped by a love of design and a year in Melbourne.

Stubborn Home Design is an independent online store run by one person with a long-standing obsession for design in all its forms – product design, industrial design, automotive design, fashion, interiors, objects, materials, shapes, and the small details that make something feel different.

The idea of building a shop had been in my mind for a long time. Even before Stubborn existed, I was already the kind of person who would send friends products, objects, spaces, or designs I found beautiful. Not always because they needed them, but because something about them felt worth noticing.

Then Melbourne became the turning point.

I spent a year there, and the city changed the way I looked at spaces. Every neighbourhood had its own atmosphere. Every street seemed to carry a different mood. From the laneways and graffiti to the cafes, independent stores, galleries, studios, shopfronts, and the people moving through them, Melbourne felt like a city where design was not just something displayed – it was part of everyday life.

That experience made me want to add my own small piece to the world of design.

Stubborn Home Design was created from that feeling.

Why “Stubborn”?

Because good taste often starts with refusal.

Refusing the ordinary.
Refusing generic decor.
Refusing objects that exist only to fill space.
Refusing the idea that a home should look like everyone else’s.

I have nothing against big stores or accessible design – they have their place, and I use them too. But Stubborn exists for something different: objects with a point of view, pieces that feel more personal, more considered, and less expected.

A home does not need to be perfect. It needs character.

What Stubborn is about

Stubborn Home Design is not only a shop. It is also a place to explore design.

Through the Blog, I want to share articles about designers, design movements, materials, techniques, interiors, objects, and the stories behind how things are made and why they matter.

Through the store, I want to offer a curated selection of products that feel distinctive – lighting, decor, frames, audio objects, storage pieces, and small design-led objects that can change the mood of a room.

The goal is not to offer everything.

The goal is to choose pieces that earn their place.

How I select products

Every object is selected with a simple question:

Does this make a space feel more considered?

Sometimes that means a strong shape.
Sometimes it is a useful function.
Sometimes it is a colour, a texture, a silhouette, or a detail that makes the object feel less ordinary.

Some pieces are minimal. Some are playful. Some are sculptural. But each one is chosen because it brings something to a space – mood, character, utility, or curiosity.

Stubborn Home Design is shaped by the year I spent in Melbourne and by the way the city lives with creativity: layered interiors, independent stores, street culture, design details, cafes, small spaces, and people from different backgrounds bringing their own energy to the city.

That Melbourne influence is part of the store’s point of view.
